MaNiFeX.net is an online portfolio of my artwork and personal library of computer related material. The artwork shown is all documented with a description of concept and implementation. Photography is my favorite medium followed by printmaking. My current projects are attempting to combine traditional arts with technology.
These pages are designed so that the majority of people can view them without a problem. MaNiFeX.net complies with the standard of HTML4 as defined by the W3 (an HTML standardization consortium.) These place limits on what is acceptable HTML, which creates a nice boundry to work within. The webmaster has an obligation to the end user to display a web page well. Though there are many people who can access the Internet at high speeds, there are many who can't. MaNiFeX.net is designed for both users in mind. I hope you enjoy exploring my niche of the web as much as I enjoyed making it.

System Log
==========
08.01.2001: Ideas flowing...
01.20.2002: Build HTML shell for web page, plan to photograph artwork with
digital camera instead of scanning slides (like previously planned.)
Start music, think of more background ideas.
08.10.2002: Finally refurbished that Macintosh 6100 I found in a Macalester
College dumpster. This will be used as my server for temporary
web space, proving that old computers (even Macs) are useful.
10.30.2002: Well after graduating college, moving to Oregon, getting a job, and
getting married, and honeymooning, MaNiFeX.net is up! It is served
on an old AMD K6-II running Apache on Slackware... Whohoo!
10.31.2002: Updated all of the pages added music, technofiles (very little), and
renovated the art gallery. Plans for a new "skin" soon.
01.25.2003: Wow, a full year since my little project began. I finally bought a new
computer, so this web page can be completely dedicated! An exciting
start for me this year. Look for more to come.
02.01.2003: My heart goes out to the families and friends of the brave astronauts
aboard the Columbia. Don't give up hope.
02.02.2003: Decided to put in my selections from my first sketchbook in the Art
section. It was made almost five years ago exactly. Check it out!
Happy birthdays to my brother and brother-in-law!
02.18.2003: Decided to switch to RedHat 8.0 Linux. Sorry for the down time!
03.02.2003: RedHat sucks... Switched to Slackware Linux 8.1. Ahh, once you go
slack, you never go back! Restored lost web data in Art section.
03.08.2003: Tweaked some things with the web page and tied up some loose security
features. Really want to change my design. Still deciding.
04.20.2003: Upgraded to Slackware 9.0!!! I was down for a record week! Well family
was in town and I had download, uncompress and install a new kernel...
It was worth it though. Hope you enjoy, especially the new archives!
