6/10/98 - Welcome to the first version of MaNiFeX's Oubliette. An oubliette is a
"room in which someone or something is left to be forgotten." Hence the name and
content. Many people forget about the amazing system called Nintendo Entertainment
System (NES). This system was the first 8-bit video game system widely used by people
around the world. Today it would be quite pricy and time-consuming to try and find
games, let alone a NES that works well. A group of people got together and have created
most of the old school Nintendo games (called ROMS) that can be used on the modern-day
PC. They also have created a system that works on the PC to play these old games
(called an emulator). There are many kinds of emulators available, but the one
most widely used was created by Bloodlust Software. This emulator (NESticle) can be
found in the Nintendo section of my web page. My job is to
create an easy way for people to play these classic games. So please take the
time and indulge yourself in the world of Nintendo. If you need help installing
NESticle, please read the How to... section before contacting
me.
