Nintendo Entertainment System is a video game system started by a Japanese
company back in 1985. With 13 years passed, the company has sky-rocketed and
control much of the video game world today. It is tough to keep the old
systems running, and very difficult to find the games of yesteryear out on
the market. This page is my attempt to help bring the old 8-bit system back
into the mainstream of gameplay. My reasons are many. Today I see video games
that lack content. Yeah, they have new booming sounds with amazing life-like
graphics, but they are not as fun to play as the games of the NES system. When
NES was out people played for the love of playing. People did not need Gameshark
and EMG to play. The secrets were many back in the older games, but they were there
to be found, not to be an obligatory part of the gameplay. These old games were fun.
Now I see my two younger brothers playing games, and when I left off playing the
16-bit systems they picked up. Now with N64, Playstation, and Saturn they see games
as graphics and sound. I feel for them, because they will never know the power of
a true game.
So please download the latest copy of NESticle, and get back to the basics, and
play Nintendo. For the old-time gamers, I have provided a Manuals
section, so they can remember the controls and the plot line (all a true gamer should need
to know). And for the new generation who can't play the old games because they require
thought AND skill, I have provided a Codes section. If you need help
with installing NESticle, see the How to... section.
